Get the latest DirectX
drivers for Win95
Do you have the latest DirectX drivers? Here's the newest 6.x
release. DirectX installs updated application
programming interfaces (APIs) into Windows 95. These routines (DirectPlay, DirectDraw,
DirectSound, DirectInput, and Direct3D) improve the performance of certain programs,
including games and multimedia applications, that are written to require these advanced
services. We're seeing more and more programs that require these drivers, so it's probably
good to have this file on hand. To install, expand the archive file to a temporary
directory and click the single executable file to begin the setup process. The install
program will scan your system for recognizable video and audio drivers that can be
upgraded, and will give you the option to perform the update on each source and to follow
Microsoft's recommendation. However, whether you replace your existing drivers or not,
you'll have to reboot your system at the end of the process. Note: These are for Windows
95 only. Windows 98 users need to access the new drivers from Microsoft's Windows Update
page. |
